Thailand

We visited Phuket and Bangkok.

Bangkok — officially called Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit
is the capital of Thailand. (Yes, that’s 168 characters long!)

One of the most memorable experiences was riding a tuk-tuk, a small doorless three-wheeled taxi.
At first, I didn’t trust it, but soon we were zooming past traffic. The only downside was the air pollution — it was so heavy that we had to wear masks.

The streets of Bangkok were alive with food vendors selling everything from quail eggs, crepes, and Thai tea to scorpions!

Phuket

Phuket, one of the southern provinces of Thailand, is known for its humid weather and beautiful beaches.
Our hotel was especially cool because when the tide was low, we could walk across the cove to another beach — but timing it wrong meant getting stranded!

One highlight was taking a boat trip into the ocean, where we snorkeled in crystal-clear blue waters surrounded by colorful fish and vibrant coral.

Visiting Thailand showed me a rich and warm culture. I’m very appreciative to have experienced such a remarkable place.
