I visited Sun Moon Lake for the first time in October 2021.

Our trip to Sun Moon Lake in October 2021 was one of those rare weekends that felt both peaceful and full of life. Surrounded by mountains and misty reflections on the water, the lake had a quiet magic to it. We spent hours playing by the water—some kayaking, others just dipping their feet in and laughing as the ripples spread across the calm surface. The air was cool and fresh, carrying the scent of pine and flowers from the nearby hills. It felt like the perfect blend of nature, friendship, and simple joy.

The food was just as unforgettable—local dishes rich with flavor, from tender braised pork rice to handmade tea desserts that tasted like comfort. Even better was sharing those meals with new friends who had quickly become close companions. Biking around the lake together was a highlight—each turn revealing new views of shimmering water, temples on the hills, and tiny lakeside cafés. By the end of the trip, it wasn’t just about seeing one of Taiwan’s most beautiful places; it was about the laughter, the shared stories, and the feeling of connection that made the journey truly special.
