We visited Hualien in 2021.

Our family trip to Hualien felt like stepping into one of Taiwan’s most breathtaking postcards. Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the towering Central Mountain Range, the city’s natural beauty was everywhere we turned. The coastal air was fresh and cool, and the sound of waves followed us as we explored scenic trails and winding roads that hugged the cliffs. Taroko Gorge was a highlight—its marble walls and turquoise river cutting through the mountains like something out of a dream. Surrounded by so much raw beauty, we found ourselves slowing down, taking in each moment, and simply enjoying being together.

Beyond the scenery, Hualien offered something even more special: time to reconnect. Whether it was sharing a simple breakfast overlooking the ocean, walking barefoot along Qixingtan Beach, or watching the sunset paint the sky in shades of pink and gold, every moment felt peaceful and grounding. Away from the city’s pace, we laughed more, talked longer, and found joy in the quiet rhythm of the coast. It was more than just a trip—it was a reminder of how travel can bring a family closer, surrounded by nature’s calm and Taiwan’s gentle charm.
